The most important question you must ask yourself right now before you read any farther is: What does success really mean to you?

I believe we breathe in the words of our parents and caregivers at a young age and are shaped by the thought we are surrounded by as our environment influences us as well. It isn’t until we figure out what ignites our soul and what we want to do with our lives that we can establish a solid plan of action.

Sometimes we are given a gentle push to stop what we are doing and start anew – at least, that’s what happened to me back in 2011. I walked into work after a late night on the phone trying to wrap my head around the information that my Dad had yet another cancer diagnosis, when I was greeted by my employer and fired on the spot. No warning, no reason.

At the time, I felt lost, scared and confused; I’d put so much of my identity into the work I was doing that I’d lost track of who I really was. Looking back, losing that job was the best damn thing that could’ve happen to me.

Truth be told, I wanted out of that place anyway. Many days I’d be daydreaming about creating a business and starting a movement that would allow me to use my voice, my message, and help millions create a life they actually want to wake up to. I had a vision of starting a foundation that would allow me to give money to families who have children living with the rare physical disability, like my own son lives with.

I had big goals! I would’ve never started making my wish my reality if I hadn’t of lost my job.

The lesson I learned in losing my job at such a vulnerable point in my life was that every door that closes brings another one open. Let me repeat, losing my job was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I went from fired to fierce and released others expectations of what my life should look like and transformed myself into the woman, wife, and mother I am today. I reassessed my definition of success and got on with it. I registered my business name and applied for University within the same thirty days and I’ve never looked back.

I use plenty of life lessons in my work and help women across the globe choose faith over fear. We can be, do, have anything we believe we can.

We can choose our thoughts, clean up our environment, and completely overhaul our lives beyond our wildest dreams if we are open to change.

Too many people stay caught up in past experiences with a bully, abuse history, perceived past failures, and broken relationships. They resist making the necessary changes for fear of it not working out. I say, why choose to suffer or struggle when there is so much greatness waiting for you to stand up and say “I am ready”…..

It’s PRIMETIME to shine and sit in the driver’s seat of your own life.
